Founder & Chairman

Gary Holloway Sr. started GMH Associates, parent company of GMH Communities & GMH Ventures, in 1985 as a small boutique real estate firm with humbled beginnings. Over three decades, he has grown the company into one of the leading providers of multifamily housing in the country. Gary has fostered a strong corporate culture with a family atmosphere.

Gary was an early investor in the student-housing arena, completing his first deal in 1985. He would grow this division to over 2,000 employees at its peak and over 60,000 beds. Gary also entered the military-housing industry in its infancy growing that portfolio to over 25,000 homes. Since the inception of GMH Associates in 1985, the GMH family of companies has completed more than 8.0 billion of transactions throughout 41 states. Gary has structured many institutional joint venture partnerships including GE, Goldman Sachs, AEW, Principal Real Estate Investors, RMB and Iron Point.

Prior to the formation of GMH Associates, he was involved in various aspects of the real estate industry. Gary served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Holloway Corporation. He began his career at Touche Ross & Company, Certified Public Accounts where Mr. Holloway provided accounting and tax services to real estate clients.

Gary’s philanthropic interests are widely recognized in many school, universities, hospitals and catholic institutions. He has served on many charitable boards over the years in an executive capacity. Gary received one of the highest honors from the Roman Catholic Church when Pope Francis granted papal orders making him a Knight in the Order of Saint Gregory the Great.

Gary received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Villanova University.

As Chief Executive Officer & President of GMH Communities, Gary Holloway Jr., draws on 20 years of acquisition, property management, asset management, and development experience to lead the second generation of the family business. Gary focuses on GMH’s current portfolio of real estate assets while researching and investing in new niche-related multifamily housing opportunities nationwide. Gary sets company goals to meet the ever- changing market trends in the multifamily space making sure that GMH is at the forefront of the industry. Gary takes the lead in sourcing joint venture partnerships with institutional investors and takes pride in maintaining long term partnerships with well know institutions.

Mike Holloway serves as the CEO of Futures Recovery Healthcare and President of GMH Ventures, the investment team responsible for the operating entities within the private portfolio of the GMH family office. Mike brings deep financial and operational experience coupled with exceptional leadership capabilities to the team at Futures. His strategic guidance, unwavering commitment to ethics, and family-centric values have propelled Futures to its reputation as a trusted provider that is able to retain and attract the industry’s top talent.

Steve Behrle, Jr.

Stephen Behrle, Jr. is the Chief Development Officer for GMH Communities. Steve is responsible for leading and executing the Company’s strategic development goals throughout the United States. Additionally, Steve is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the development process including land acquisition, underwriting, entitlements, design, and construction. Steve brings over 25 years of commercial real estate experience to his current role at GMH. Since joining GMH in 2000, Steve has overseen the acquisition and development of over $2 billion of residential and commercial properties.

Tammy Malloy – PhD, LCSW

Tammy Malloy – PhD, LCSW

Chief Operating Officer & Executive Director, FUTURES RECOVERY HEALTHCARE

Dr. Tammy Malloy received her PhD in Social Work, from Barry University, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. Dr. Malloy has facilitated research for over ten years and has published in academic journals on Addiction, Depression and Spirituality as well as clinical personality pathology and syndromes. Dr. Malloy’s most recent research is in the area of internet pornography use among young adult women. Dr. Malloy has worked in the field of behavioral health for over fifteen years and has a passion for implementing systems that assist in providing safety and quality patient care. Having worked as a clinician, Research Director and Chief Clinical Officer in the field of addiction, Dr. Malloy brings a wealth of knowledge in trauma informed care, family systems, and high-risk behaviors that encompass all addictive behaviors. Dr. Malloy has spoken at conferences both Nationally and Internationally on substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health disorders, and high-risk sexual behaviors among adolescents and adults. Dr. Malloy’s transformational leadership approach compliments her passion for teaching others while empowering staff and patients to take ownership of improving their overall quality of life.

Michael Faherty

Based in Florida, Michael joined GMH Communities in 2021 to support the Holloway’s mission on giving back to the military community. Prior to joining GMH, Michael was as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy and served with the Navy SEALs, Marines, Air Force, and Army Special Forces in Afghanistan as a lead Intelligence Officer. He additionally served as a Surface Warfare Officer and deployed to the Persian Gulf as well as the Coast of Africa performing anti-piracy operations. Michael received BA in Finance from Tulane and Stanford’s Ignite Program.

Ray Kelley

Based in Maryland, Ray is the Founder and Principal of Two Branch Strategies; he joined GMH Communities as legislative consultant utilizing 25 years of military service and military and veteran advocacy to his work. Most recently, Ray served as a Sr Advisor and VSO Liaison for the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Prior to his appointment to VA, Ray served as the Majority Staff Director for the House Committee on Veterans Affairs; National Legislative Service Director for the Veterans of Foreign Wars; and National Legislative Director for AMVETS (American Veterans) before his work at the VFW. Ray served six years in the United States Marine Corps. Ray received his BA in Political Science from Indiana University.

Based in WA state, Patti joined GMH Communities in August 2022 to advance an in-depth housing needs assessment for Active-Duty services members and Veterans regionally. Having spent 23 years in Human Services serving homeless households through Trauma Informed Care and Housing First best practices as well as her most recent work serving as Program Director for federal VA grant: Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) working with unhoused and at-risk Veterans in Western WA, Patti brings a breadth of knowledge and grassroots community development to the team. Patti received her MA in Public Administration from Middlebury Institute of International Studies Monterey CA.
